Things We Do

Our Office

To help do our part we moved our office to a LEED Gold certified building in the summer of 2011.  We made our desks from reclaimed redwood. We recycle and compost in our office and wherever possible, and we always use recycled paper, printed with soy inks, for all of our catalogs, marketing materials and product hangtags.  

Our Factory Partners

All of our bags are made of cyclePET fabric created by our bluesign® certified fabric factory.  Bluesign® certified fabric manufacturers adhere to strict standards for environmental protection and health and safety. CyclePET is an amazing fabric made from post-consumer recycled beverage bottles.  PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate, #1 plastics) is the most popular packaging material for food and beverages because it is lightweight, transparent, and has highly efficient gas and moisture barrier properties.  CyclePET is created by collecting clear PET bottles and containers, breaking them up into tiny chips and melting them down to be reformed into new bottles, containers, and of course, fabric. Creating and using cyclePET fabric instead of fabric from virgin petroleum saves millions of plastic bottles from our landfills every year.

Our Distribution Center

Our distribution center, Planet Access Company, is great.  Besides being a wonderful fulfillment center for us, Planet Access Company gives employment training and paid work opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities. This gives these adults opportunities to contribute fully in their communities and to live dignified and fulfilling lives.
